Karlstad

In Karlstad, it's easier to find good accommodation than in many other university towns without having to jump through hoops. The municipality of Karlstad guarantees accommodation for all students moving into the town and who have been accepted to study at Karlstad University. With an accommodation guarantee, you'll always be guaranteed somewhere to live; be it on a corridor, a shared apartment or an apartment of your own. This offer is a partnership between the municipality, the university and Karlstads Bostads AB and other housing companies in the Karlstad area.

The accommodation guarantee means:

  • guaranteed accommodation will be available to you if you're a student who's just moved into the municipality of Karlstad
  • you have to have been accepted to study at the university
  • you'll receive an offer of accommodation within one month of applying for somewhere to live and being able to prove that you've been accepted at Karlstad University
  • you'll be offered accommodation near the university, near the town centre, in one of the suburbs or one of the neighbouring municipalities
  • the accommodation guarantee may mean you'll be offered part of a larger
  • apartment
  • if you already live in the municipality of Karlstad, you won't be guaranteed somewhere to live but of course we'll offer you accommodation if there's any available.

Sunne

In Sunne, there are lots of nice areas for students to live in; near the town centre, close to nature, swimming pools or near schools, maybe. Students studying at Brobygrafiska, Brobyskolan and Södra Viken, both upper secondary students and vocational students, live in our student accommodation.

Filipstad

Bergsskolan maintains a partnership with Finnshyttan Fastighets AB, which has converted the old hospital into student accommodation. A total of 43 apartments have been fitted out as student accommodation for Bergsskolan students. These newly renovated apartments include fibre-optic cable services. Rental contracts are entered into for periods of ten months at a time so that the apartments can be made available to tourists in summer.
