Transportation service

The transportation service is a special kind of public transport for people who have significant difficulties getting about on their own due to disabilities (which are not temporary). In Värmland, applications to use the transportation service are made to Värmlandstrafik AB in all municipalities except for Karlstad, where applications are accepted and processed by Karlstadsbuss.

If you live in Karlstad, you can travel with the transportation service within the municipality of Karlstad. If you want to travel outside the municipality, the boundary for the municipal transportation service is 30 km. If you live in any other municipality, the transportation service covers all of Värmland, as well as up to 30 km into adjacent counties.

Decisions on permits

Värmlandstrafik AB and Karlstadsbuss respectively make decisions on permits for and terms of travel. If the applicant is under 12, the application will be examined in relation to children of a similar who do not have disabilities.
