Folk high school

There are six folk high schools in the region: Ingesund, Kyrkerud, Klarälvdalen, Kristinehamn and Molkom, which have Region Värmland as their principal (owner). Geijerskolan is run in the form of a foundation.

Together they offer some 950 places for participants. Participant numbers are considerably higher, as people are permitted to study shorter courses on either a full-time or a part-time basis. In addition, there is also assignment training which varies over time but includes around 60 full-time places over the course of a year.

Five of these schools are boarding schools, which means that students can live at the school during their studies. Teaching also takes place at branches and remotely, on a full-time or a part-time basis, in order to meet participants' varying needs for study solutions.
