Local study centres – remote studies

Local study centres act as a mode for courses of various kinds on home turf; everything from SFI (Swedish for immigrants) to vocational college courses, college courses and assignment training courses.

The target group is people who want to carry on studying in some form but who can't or won't move. Telebild technology is a key factor which allows students to follow lectures and seminars being held elsewhere in Sweden on the same terms as the people who are sitting in the lecture hall.

At local study centres, individuals can get help with:

• guidance
• study funding
• access to the Internet and other technology, as well as the opportunity to meet other people studying on similar terms.

In Värmland, there are local study centres in Arvika, Karlstad, Sunne, Kristinehamn, Säffle and Forshaga.
