Technical College, Service College, Care and Nursing College
"College" is an umbrella term for a number of courses at upper secondary and post upper secondary level: technical, service and care and nursing. "College" in this regard is a certification (quality hallmark) which shows that a number of municipalities and training organisers are working together with trade and industry in a region in order to develop courses on the basis of the demands made by trade and industry.
Training organisers who have been certified as colleges offer courses designed to attract young people and adults, while at the same time utilising existing resources as efficiently as possible. The concept also includes offering existing staff skills development opportunities. Employers have a very important part to play in the college concept as they are active in the choice of direction, formulation and the implementation of ongoing operations by providing placements for the work experience elements of these courses.
