Safety and security

Safety and security are vital elements in any democratic society. In Sweden, there are a number of authorities – at national, regional and local level – who prioritise these issues in their agendas.

The County Administrative Board is the highest civilian national defence authority and works to maintain and develop contingencies in society. The rescue services are available in the municipalities.
