Associations help to keep Värmland alive.
No matter what you're interested in, you're likely to find an association involving like-minded individuals. There are computer clubs where people meet up to play computer games. We have action groups that try to shape opinions on political issues. There are immigrant associations and other people who represent the interests of a group. And of course, we also have lots of district associations and local householders' associations.
Sports are also important to us here in Värmland. Lots of sports associations. Värmlands Idrottsförbund, the Värmland Sports Association, is an umbrella organisation for all sports associations in Värmland.
Patient and interest organisations
For people with long-term illnesses or permanent disabilities. It can be valuable for them to get in touch with others in similar situations. The County Council has collated information on patient and interest organisations.
Municipalities' registers of associations
The municipalities keep registers of different types of association. You'll often find these on their websites or by contacting the leisure administration or similar in the municipality in question.
